About this author

I was born in Sandy, Utah, a few days before Halloween in 1989. I lived in Salt Lake City until I was about six, and then I moved North and settled into the place I still call home.

I'm the second child of ten, and I absolutely love being the big sister.
I can't remember a time when I didn't enjoy reading, and I did a lot of it. I also dabbled in writing when I was young, though nothing serious until I entered the teenage years.

Becoming an author is a dream come true!
I attended Snow College, and there got the best job ever as a writing tutor. I graduated in May 2011 with my Associate of Science, and am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science as an English Major.

I love movies, music, and books—although I do think that the dumbest question on the planet is the whole “What's your favorite book/music/movie?” The best answer I've come up with is, “Whatever I'm reading, listening to, or watching at the time.” Generally, it's an accurate answer.

I love the smell of lilacs, wet cement, and freshly cut grass. I love brownies, rain, and curling up with a good book


1) Tell me something about you and your book “Seers”.

The Seers Trilogy is primarily about a teenager, Kate Bennett, who is a Seer—able to discern between mortals and immortals. But more than that, she can see the difference between Demons and Guardians—which of course makes her a target of both . . .

2) How and why have you started to write? Were there something or someone that gave you an impulse?

I’ve always loved books. Reading and writing were among my favorite things to do, even from a very young age. Writing novels became a natural way to express my love of a good story, and eventually I became serious about publishing my books.

3) What is that something you have in common with the main character?

Kate and I both put family first. We’ve both lost family members, so we have that emotional connection. Basically, I really believe my family has helped define who I am. They always support me, and I know I can always count on them. Kate feels the same.

4) While you’re writing, have you discovered a character that you where 
developing feelings of love for? And was there a character that gave you headaches?

I totally love Patrick. I’d date him in a second. As for a character that gave me headaches . . . not so much. Not yet in this series, anyway. 

5) How have you done your research for this novel?

I started with Google searches, taking full advantage of Google maps. Probably the most fun part of the research was when I was trying to figure out a creepy name for the Demon hunting Kate. I read through a few different books about Irish folk legends before finally finding Fear Dearg, a magical being that likes to make mischief for humans. Mostly his pranks are harmless. Obviously, my Fear Dearg adopted this name and made the character darker, more sinister.

6) In the end, would you like say some words to your fans from Romania?

First of all, you guys are amazing! I love your support, and I really appreciate your enthusiasm for my books. My goal is to do a book signing in Romania long before I die. J Thanks, and happy reading!

1) Spune-mi ceva despre tine şi cartea ta Seers.

Trilogia Seers este despre o adolescentă, Kate Bennett, care este un Seer- capabil să facă diferenţa între muritori şi nemuritori. Dar, mai mult decât atât, ea poate vedea diferenţa dintre Demoni şi Gardieni- iar asta o face o ţintă pentru cele două tabere.

2) Cum şi când ai început să scrii? A existat cineva sau ceva, care te-a impulsionat?

Am iubit întotdeauna cărţiile. Scrisul şi cititul au fost printre activităţiile mele preferate, încă de la o vârstă foarte fragedă. Scrierea poveştiilor a devenit pentru mine o formă de a-mi exprima opinia pentru o poveste bună şi între timp am devenit mai interesată în publicarea cărţilor mele.

3) Ce anume ai în comun cu personajul prinsipal?

Eu şi Kate punem familia pe primul loc. Amândouă am pierdut membrii ai familiei, deci avem acea conexiune emoţională. Cred cu tărie, că familia mea m-a ajutat să mă definesc ca persoană. Aceştia mereu m-au susţinut şi ştiu că pot conta pe ei întotdeauna. Kate simte la fel.

4) În cursul scrierii romanului, ţi-ai dat seama că te ataşezi mai mult de un anume personaj? Şi invers, ai descoperit că vreunul vă irită?

Îl iubesc pe Patrick. M-aş întâlni cu el într-o secundă. Cât despre un personaj, care mi-a dat dureri de cap…nu a existat. Nu în această serie, în orice caz.

5) Cum aţi făcut cercetarea pentru această carte?

Am început să cercetez pe Google, profitând din plin de hărţile Google. Probabil, că cea mai distractivă experienţă, a fost când a trebuit să găsesc un nume pentru Demonul care o vâna pe Kate. Am citit câteva cărţi diferite despre legendele folclorice Irlandeze, înainte de a găsi Fear Dearg,  o creatură magică, care încearcă să facă rău oamenilor. În mare parte acţiuniile lui sunt inocente. Evident că Fear Dearg, care a adoptat acest nume şi a făcut personajul şi mai întunecat şi mai sinistru. 

6) În final, ai dori să le spui câteva cuvinte fanilor dumneavoastră din România?

În primul rând sunteţi minunaţi! Iubesc sprijinul vostru şi chiar apreciez entuziasmul vostru pentru cărţiile mele. Scopul meu este să organizez o semnare de cărţi în România cu mult înainte să mor. Mulţumesc şi lectură plăcută!
